Job Description:  

  • Responsible for ensuring units, common areas and community appearance are properly maintained
  • Responsible for all requests for various types of maintenance work assigned by the Maintenance Supervisor
  • Responsibilities related to electrical, carpentry, plumbing, appliance repair, painting, and other typical apartment repairs
  • Work alongside the Site Manager and the on-site staff to ensure that all activities are conducted in compliance with local, state, federal, housing, safety and OSHA laws
  • Adhere to dress code as established by management
  • Use protective equipment when necessary and follow safety procedures
  • Communicate with staff and residents in a professional manner
  • Complete work orders manually and on the computer or tablet
  • Maintain and upkeep maintenance shop for inventories on parts, tools and supplies
  • Monitor maintenance purchases
  • Coordinate preventative maintenance schedules and make ready activity
  • Coordinate after hours emergency response

 Qualifications:

  • At least two (2) years of experience as a maintenance technician required, preferrably in an apartment community
  • Excellent organization and customer service skills
  • Ability to handle multiple priorities and prioritize workloads
  • Must be able to work independently with little supervision
  • Superior diagnostic skills and be able to perform repair work on the following: appliances, electrical systems, plumbing systems, carpentry, and painting/sheetrock
  • Required that you maintain a vehicle, valid state driver's license and current insurance
  • HVAC certification preferred or be HVAC certified within six (6) months of hire date
