 Job Description:              

  • Coordinating/working on work requests and all other aspects of maintenance for residents needs including on call after hours
  • Bringing in sub-contractors and receiving bids for various other jobs not handled by maintenance staff (painters, plumbers, electricians, and roofers)
  • Work with Property Manager, Area Manager, and Regional Director to keep budget within budget restraints
  • Ordering necessary supplies for the property
  • Cleaning units and picking up trash from grounds
  • Working directly with staff on work requests and make readies
  • Assist in maintenance staff with interior common area and grounds upkeep and maintenance
  • During winter months responsible for snow and ice removal, and be available for any required overtime
  • Partner with landscape vendors to assure that contract is being performed to standards
  • Must be able to maintain grounds to company high standards and assure that it is debris free
  • This is a Union position


  • Knowledge and skills in carpentry, electrical, plumbing
  • Troubleshooting problems with appliances and HVAC
  • Computer and office skills (Yardi maintenance, Microsoft Word, data entry)
  • Work experience in using hand and power tools, operating snow blower, etc.
  • HVAC certified required
  • Adherence to the dress code as established by management, use protective equipment when necessary, and follow safety procedures, all required
  • Must pass a background check, pre-employment drug testing, and approval by the Chicago Housing Authority
