McCormack Baron Management, Inc. serves as a third party property manager of properties owned by the Housing Authority of the City of Los Angeles.  Our mission is to transform places into communities where all people can thrive.  We believe that successful management of any community requires a management strategy that acknowledges the unique challenges facing the neighborhood and its residents. The Project Based Voucher Senior Housing Facilities are located in the greater Los Angeles Area. The properties unit size range from 30 to 196 units.


The Social Service Coordinator (SSC) along with the Regional Directory will develop and execute a plan to assess and determine the on-going and changing needs of each resident. The Social Service Coordinators will meet with residents at initial contact and identify the areas of resident need. Follow up intake interviews will be scheduled monthly by the SSC to progressively work with the tenants. The SSC's will also be responsible for the following:

  • Provides comprehensive case management including, referrals and seamless coordination with other community and supportive services activities that promote economic self-sufficiency, health and enhance quality of life for seniors, the disabled, and increase opportunities for residents
  • Conduct a needs assessment/in-take of each resident/family to identify service needs and develop an Individual Development Plan
  • Tracks all resident-specific needs and prepares reports documenting contacts and progress towards goals outlined in Individual Development Plan
  • Provide resource information to residents on available local services and programs.

    • Resolution to Medial and Health Insurance Problems
    • On-site Education Opportunities, include Life Skills, Parenting, ESL Courses, Brain Fitness, Nutrition and Wellness Programs
    • Health Screenings
    • Substance Abuse Programs
    • Advocacy
    • Elder Abuse Issues
    • Fall Prevention
    • Legal Services
  • Coordinate resident events, programs, presentations, trainings, and other related activities with the Activities Coordinator, and maintain and share with residents a Calendar of Events
  • Provide a monthly report on services or programs provided, progress of IDPs, and other activities.


  • Bachelor's Degree in Social Work, Sociology, Psychology, or related area is preferred, with a minimum of two years of relevant work experience
  • Experience with working with an elderly population
  • Ability and commitment to handle privileged information in a professional and confidential manner
  • Availability to work evening and weekend hours as needed
  • Ability to work with and without supervision
  • Possession of a valid driver's license and availability of personal automobile for use at work
  • Ability to function as a team player in both internal and external relationships.
