JOB DESCRIPTION:

This position assists the Tax Credit Compliance Manager with a variety of Section 42 compliance monitoring responsibilities and other tasks including but not limited to those described below:

         Evaluate resident applications and recertification paperwork for tax credit compliance eligibility and consistency with management software.

  • Coordinate and prepare written response to audits from investors and state agencies.
  • Provide guidance and training to property employees on Section 42 and other financing regulations.
  • Prepare and submit Section 42 and other regulatory reports as needed.
  • Other duties as assigned.
  • Minimal travel may be required.

 

QUALIFICATIONS: 

    • A very high level of professional and ethical standards as well as customer service skills.
    • Ability to research and evaluate obligations based on regulatory agreements and government regulations and to determine any non-compliance with those requirements.
    • Must be organized, self-starter, and motivated.
    • Must have exceptional oral and written communication skills.
    • Must be able to remain professionally flexible when priorities and requests change and have a proven ability to handle and prioritize a continuous array of deadline-oriented tasks.
    • Computer experience and an intermediate to high level of skill in the following software programs is required: Microsoft Windows, Word, Excel, and Outlook.
    • Experience with Adobe Acrobat Professional and Yardi Voyager is preferred along with the required ability to acquire skill in new software programs.

    • EDUCATION EXPERIENCE:          

    • Candidates who have completed at least an associate's degree are preferred.  
    • Prior work experience in tax credit compliance and HCCP (or equivalent) certification preferred. 
    • Non-certified candidates may be hired only with expectation of earning the HCCP designation after six months of employment with MBM and two years of industry-related experience whichever comes later.
